Here's a "different" suggestion.  Tom Van Valey, Keith Roberts, Kathleen
Piker-King and Jeanne Ballantine did a session in Cleveland on "The
State of Teaching in Sociology".  Each paper was worthy of
publication.   If Tom (the session organizer) would seek out another
paper or two, I think they would make a fantastic special issue of
Sociological Focus.  I even suggested to Tom that he contact you about

Given the furor over the propsed ASA by-law changes and committee
restructuring at the Biz Meeting, Council Meeting and on currently on
the TEACHSOC listserv, I think this would be a very timely issue!
