Things were somewhat quiet at Inniswood Metro Gardens today with mostly common species, however nature has a way of providing a silver lining. In a cavity off the Chipmunk Chatter Trail I located a gray morf Eastern Screech Owl and near the intersection of the Boardwalk Preserve Trail and the Spring Run Trail I located a Barred Owl that was just to the side of the trail. A family was nearby and I shared the owl with them. I'm not sure if the 5-year old or the adults were more excited to see an owl, a new experience for all of them. I didn't locate the resident Great Horned Owl which was my objective when I went to the park.
