Not far from the gorge overlook area at Mohican SP as reported on ebird, I found several Evening Grosbeaks. At one point, I had 15 in one tree! Their nearly constant calls were delightful. They were feeding on some berries as well as going to feeders at a house. Also saw juncos near the same feeders. Weather and light weren’t great but wonderful to hear and see so many—certainly the most Evening Grosbeaks I’ve seen at once. Such lovely birds—a tragedy they are in a steep decline.

The celebrity Snowy Owl at the Alum dam spillway was still there this afternoon. It/she was perched on a rock on the dam where the riprap meets the grass, preening and just hanging out.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
