Slow. Period. A lovely day to be out! But I struck out on anything new for
The big year. Like Brown Creeper. Or OC Warbler. I was out in the afternoon, but
I can usually find a flock! Not today. Thankfully Salamander Run Metro Park
Was hopping with butterflies. And a dark moth I kept flushing along the trails.
I never managed a pic of that. I tried! I don’t know my moths well. Highlights
Here were 3 Hermit Thrush, and 2 Palm Warblers. 1 brown thrasher. One
White eyed vireo - still singing! I only had 5 Goldfinches. That shows how
Slow it was!
Green Heron metro park was even slower. It seems the area right in front of
The parking lot here has been mowed. Drastically. Good! I can see the pond
A bit now! Nothing on it though.
Butterfly notes - Painted Ladies, Fiery skipper - then the usual late fall bugs.
Ode notes - Blue faced Meadowhawks, Wandering Gliders. Plus a darner
I did not have a good look at.
Good birding all.
