It was very pleasant walking around Denison Bio Reserve today but quiet bird-wise. I heard my first Yellow-billed Cuckoo for the season for Denison. Also heard Louisiana Waterthrush (caught a glimpse of one flying), Com YT and Kentucky warbler.

The Wood Duck hen seems to have lost one duckling so she has just 5 now unless it’s a different hen.

3 vireos: White-eyed, Yellow-throated & Red-eyed. Pewees & Acadian FCs. Scarlet Tanager, Indigo Buntings.

Yesterday, after seeing the Franklins Gull at Alum Creek (also saw one Forster’s Tern there), I stopped briefly at Galena. Heard a couple prothonotaries at area N and saw one Wood Duck hen, mallards. The near Osprey nest had 2 adults and 2 youngsters eagerly accepting food from one of the adults. Lots of DC Cormorants.
