Sunny at first but wind still had a bite to it. At Denison, I saw a small group of Cedar Waxwings, one Pileated WP, one GC Kinglet, bluebirds, a few robins. Only sparrows were White-throated and one Song.
On the way to oxbow later, I detoured to Tagg Rd but only saw a few Horned Larks.
At Oxbow, there was an assortment of ducks: Ruddies, Redheads, Ring-neckeds, mallards & I believe some distant Scaup. They all had their heads tucked. Also lots of Hooded & a few RB Mergansers.
There was also one swan that only offered a back view with its head was tucked but it raised its head once and if I had to guess, I’d say it was a Juv Trumpeter—light silver on its head & neck, body close to white. I only had a brief look at the head but the bill looked all black & elongated.
Two imm Bald Eagles were sitting on the ice.
Bonaparte’s & Ring-billed Gulls, a couple Herring.
Red-taileds along the roadsides.
