There were a lot of birds moving today. Not as many as yesterday, but I
didn't have all that much time yesterday to do a complete count. Birds of
note were four jaegers, 1 long-tailed, 1 parasitic, and two unidentified.
The long-tailed went by fairly early (between 8:30-9:00). It was an
immature light phase bird. It was heading east. The parasitic was a dark
phase immature and was also heading east. The two unidentified birds were
very distant and were both dark phase. Both were heading west. One
appeared big like it may have been a pomarine, but it was too far out to see
anything.

Also of note was an immature Sabine's gull and two adult Little gulls. Also
of note were all three scoters.

Today was good, but there were more birds moving. Viewing was a little
tougher with the steady rain at times. Yesterday I had two Sabine's gulls,
both immatures, and a red phalarope. I also had a couple surf and
white-winged scoters.

I will only be doing a small number of counts this season as I am moving.
I'm not moving too far away, but I'll no longer be along the lake. I have
lake access not far away, but I won't be getting out as much. I'll miss
being able to watch from the house.
