A great horned owl has been serenading these parts during crepuscular hours
since Sept. 20. Two evenings ago (10/11) we noticed that a second owl, with
a voice slightly higher in pitch and differing in cadence, has joined in. I
strongly suspect this is the same pair that we had nearby last year.

Listening to an owl duet is utterly charming... subtle, but well worth the
time.
