On a Cincinnati Bird Club field trip, Saturday, October 29, seen at about
11:30 to 12:30. First found by Rick Asamoto. The group debated Pacific
versus Red-throated but agreed on juvenile RTLO based on bill shape,
straight or slightly upturned upper mandible, sharply pointed tip, curved
lower mandible, relatively flat and sloped forehead. White face and grayish
sides of neck made it juvenile RTLO. The bird flew south, but we lost it in
the trees in background as it approached the north boat ramp. We searched
all points south from the North to Furnace Boat Ramps with no luck in
refinding.
