I was able to find the Red-necked Grebe at the Dillon SP marina this morning around 11. It was swimming out of the cove and immediately headed to the opposite shore, of course. I still got great views. Winter plumage. I was watching it through the scope when it caught a medium-sized fish, perhaps a bluegill, and quickly the fish was down the hatch. V cool.
Only other birds were a couple Ruddies and a great blue heron as well as ring-billed gulls, TVs. Things were getting a bit crowded with fishermen and people hanging out on the beach so I headed to the Blackhand Gorge area. Will post if anything exciting but seems v quiet.
