Greetings birders -
My dad, Dave Brumfield, and I led a birdwalk at Firestone Metropark (Summit County Metroparks) this a.m., with fantastic results for this Akron-area oasis. We had 12 species of warblers, with highlights of multiple male Ceruleans.
White-throated Sparrows were ridiculously abundant - one woodlot held around 40 individuals.
Highlights:
Yellow Warbler - 10
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 20+
Palm Warbler - 6
Nashville Warbler - 4
Black-and-white Warbler -
Cerulean Warbler - 3
Bay-breasted Warbler - 1
Northern Parula - 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 3
Magnolia Warbler - 1
Black-throated Green Warbler - 1
Northern Waterthrush - 2
White-eyed Vireo - 1
Blue-headed Vireo - 1
Warbling Vireo - 2
best of birding -
Jen
