I had some good luck finding migrant passerines the last couple days.  Yesterday around home here in Lowellville, Mahoning Co. were least flycatcher, blue-headed vireo, magnolia warblers, blackpoll warbler, black-throated green warbler and white-throated sparrows.  Today I visited Conneaut harbor from 7:15 AM - 1:00 PM.  There was a nice gathering of birds along the roadsides south of the lagoon/spit which included: chimney swifts, golden-crowned kinglets, ruby-crowned kinglets, e. bluebird, Am. robin, yellow-rumped warblers, blackpoll warblers, black-throated blue warbler, black-throated green warbler, Wilson's warbler, white-throated sparrows, and white-crowned sparrows.  Out on the spit 5 horned larks and 2 Am. pipits put in appearances.  Also seen at the spit: merganser trifecta w/2 hoodeds, 3 commons, and 5 red-breasteds; 113 double-crested cormorants (flying west), great blue herons, turkey vulture, bald eagles, Cooper's hawk, semipalmated
plover, 10 killdeer, 2 Am. avocets, 3 greater yellowlegs, lesser yellowlegs, 2 sanderlings, a juv. white-rumped sandpiper, pectoral sandpiper, 3 dunlin, 5 Bonaparte's gulls, the ad. black-headed gull, great black-backed gull, and 2 belted kingfishers.  On the way home I went by Mosquito L.  The water is still high there.  Seen at Mosquito were 9 horned grebes, 2 great egrets, bald eagle, red-shouldered hawk, 10 Am. coots, and belted kingfisher.  It was great to feel some sun.....Craig Holt, Lowellville
