got to Conneaut this morning @ 9:45
49* with strong winds and BIG waves.
drizzled to light rain whole time
be careful if you're planning on driving to
the sandspit - water must have been very
high as lots of new soft sand is present.
a pick-up was stuck in the sand. i made it
to the spit w 4wd.
 
300+ Ring-billed gulls
20-ish Herring gulls
5 Bonaparte gulls
3 Sanderlings
(nothing in the "bay")
 
driving back to the road we stopped
and birded the area along the road
to the launch
1 Black-crowned night heron
1 Blue-headed Vireo
15+ Palm Warblers
2O+ Blackpoll Warblers
15-ish Mallards
10+ Canada Geese
1 Turkey Vulture
 
we went to the park west of the spit
and saw the following near the gazebo
20+ Yellow-rumped Warblers
30+ Blackpoll Warblers
 
on the beach below the gazebo were only
RB Gulls  - hundreds
H Gulls - a couple dozen
 
 
on drive out there from Gates Mills i saw
100+ crows today
 
in my backyard there are 10+ Juncos
(i have year-round residents, 3-4 maybe)
