Observations at Killdeer Plains  Wildlife Area today.

Ring-necked Pheasant, a cock and a hen together off TH-108
Northern Harrier, both males and females, off CH-71, CH-77, CH-68 and CH-67
Cooper's Hawk, one on CH-71 and a second at TH-103
Red-shouldered Hawk, one near the pine grove parking area off CH-71 and one near Pond 27
Red-tailed Hawk, many spread around the area
Rough-legged Hawk, individuals at CH-115 near Ohio 294, Ch-71, CH-68, CH-67, and CH-108
American Kestrels, numerous and spread about
Peregrine Falcon, a lone bird harassing American Tree Sparrows along CH-68 near Washburn Road
Barred Owl, one in front area of the pine grove off CH-71
Northern Saw-whet Owl, one near the rear of the pine grove off CH-71
Red-headed Woodpeckers, 6 in all, at Pond 33, CH-103, CH-71, CH-123
Horned Larks, abundant, but no Lapland Longspurs to play with

Bald eagles, not a single one seen today; no sign of the shrike; no indication of Long-eared Owls; and I left early rather than hang around for Short-eared Owls.
