Early migrants continue to dribble through in central Ohio. A quick
afternoon visit yesterday to southern Hoover Reservoir and nearby Inniswood
MetroPark found some early migrants along the reservoir, including

Lesser Scaup - flock of 100 off Walnut St boat launch
Mergansers - 45+ Red-breasteds off Hoover Dam, smaller #s of Hoodeds in
many spots
Grebes - a few Horned Grebes off both the boat ramp and the dam
Cormorants - the vanguard groups were 2 off the boat ramp and 13 circling
over the dam
Gulls - good #s at the dam included 100 Ring-bills, 8-10 Herring, and 1
Bonapartes
Pileated Woodpecker - 1 male drumming along the forest loop path in
Inniswood
Tree Swallows - small #s at both the boat ramp and the dam
E.Bluebirds - singing singles at all 3 locations (but yesterday was
something to sing about)
