Found two nice owls today in Fairfield County, near Lancaster. The first was a red phase eastern screech owl on thornville road just before it reaches rush creek lake. Photos were posted to ebird
Also found the previously reported snowy owl at Misty Meadows, just off fair avenue. Took a bad digiscoped photo of it, and also posted it to ebird. The bird was viewed by about a dozen birders, and a couple of local residents who came out to see why there were suddenly a bunch of strangers on the walk in front of their houses with scopes and binoculars. Not real close views, but very satisfying, and a life bird for several.
