I took a walk around sunset after the rain on the bike trail west of town and discovered there had been a hatch of some kind of gnat. Luckily, they weren’t a biting fly and there were a lot of birds busy fly catching. I had a mixed flock in a sycamore tree that included goldfinches, House Finches, Robins, RB Grosbeaks, Cedar Waxwings, Bluebirds and one Yellow-throated Warbler.
