Today, in the late afternoon, a noisy, agitated flock of titmice, chickadees and
downy woodpeckers pointed out a n. saw whet owl perched at the top of the pine trees in my
small wood lot. (90 feet high?)
Looking up my ebird records, I find that the first and only other time that I found a saw whet here was in 2007.
Very similar circumstances, a flock of small birds mobbing the little owl, who just sat
tight and waited for the mob to tire of him. (I was so delighted to find him, that I joined this list on
that day.)
