I was at Sims Park in Euclid today (Cuyahoga County) from 2:15 to 3:35pm today. I initially was just going to look for landbirds but when I saw Scaup from the bluff I got the scope. Most ducks east of pier. I counted approx. 115 Scaup (which I can't ID which ones) and at least 37 Common Goldeneye. Also, the three female Long-tailed Ducks were still there--together mixed in with Scaup/Goldeneye. Small numbers of Red-breasted Mergansers and a Common Loon. In the park other than multiple hundreds of Grackles, Starlings and a few Red-winged Blackbirds the only birds I could find of interest were two Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers closer to parking lot east of Henn Mansion. There were approx. 6 Golden-crowned Kinglets east of the driveway.
I was at Villa Angela/Wildwood Parks from 11:15 TO 2pm. Also, not particular birdy for me today but there were approx 6 Fox Sparrows in Villa Angela near entrance to field/near birch/alder woods and some were singing when I first saw them. Also, two Northern Mockingbirds near creek and woods in Wildwood, only five Golden-crowned Kinglets, still more Song Sparrows, one Eastern Phoebe in Villa Angela in wet woods, many Robins, two White-throated Sparrows, one B. Creeper and male Eastern Towhee. In the marina was one Common Loon who was not diving, two Horned Grebes, Bufflehead, four Coots and still one Pied-billed Grebe in the wetland/creek area.
