This morning some of my mechanics visited a military motorpool just NE of the intersection of E. Broad St. and James Rd. in Columbus, and sitting on the hoods of the vehicles were 7 great horned owls. Some where in pairs, others individual, but all seven were sitting along a row of 10-12 vehicles. Also on the vehicle hoods we found a few pellets.

There are some older neighborhoods with mature trees in that area, and I suspect both our property and the surrounding area provide numerous small mammals to munch on, but still this seemed an odd concentration. We were able to do our work with only minimal disturbance.
