Yes! I went around mid day. My best time for the Rough legged.
And it cooperated! The usual spot. viewed from the overlook. It
perched out on a box on a utility pole. Then it went hunting. Nice
to see in flight! yes! That would have been a big miss for the big year.
Since it has been there all month.....

The Greater white fronted geese seem to have moved on. A lot
moved on with the big thaw. All water was open. Still Canvasback
on Lodge Pond.

I hit Lost Bridge next. Not too much. All water was open. I had
a Merlin though! Always nice. And I had a Peregrine at Fernald.
Raptors were being cooperative today.

I too see many more Black Vultures than Turkey lately. The SW
Ohio area. Not a clue why.

Good birding all. Winter finches are high on my list to locate for
the big year.
