Initially I thought I would leave the reserve without any warblers but then I ran into another birder who had just seen a Magnolia. I missed the Magnolia but not too far from where she had seen it, I saw a Chestnut-sided then a small mixed flock appeared near spring peeper pond: Blue-winged, female Black-throated Blue, & Canada. There were also two YB Cuckoos, Red-eyed Vireo, WB Nuthatch, Tufted Titmouse and an empid with a noticeably large bill and wide lower mandible bright orange—I’m guessing Willow? Then the flock was gone.
Earlier I saw two adult Red-headed WPs who were quite vocal. I also heard White-eyed Vireo, Acadian FC and E Peewee. No wood thrushes today. Lots of catbirds & towhees. Wood Ducks.
Had a few Tree Swallows & Purple Martins fly over.
