I had a pleasant walk at the Bio reserve this morning and enjoyed the chilly but sunny weather. No wind was great.
Not too much bird activity but I did see a catbird that was being v skulky. Also heard and saw a Hermit Thrush. The only sparrows were White-throated although a few days ago I saw one Swamp. Heard a towhee today also.
I had also seen a Winter Wren last week but only saw Carolina Wrens today.
Heard a Red-breasted Nuthatch at the reserve then later, I heard one in my yard.
The third time was the charm for the Hebron Ross’ Goose. I’ve dipped at both Evans Park & the pond near Harry & David two other trips but today, after no luck again at the other spots, I went to the 79/40 pond and it was hanging out with many Canada Geese. I watched it preen & get a drink of water. Nice OH bird for me.
