This was a butterfly trip. But I am always birding. Yep! That’s me….
I was surprised at the number of species still singing into the heat
Of the afternoon here. Kentucky, BW Warbler - one was close enough
I heard it! Someday a GW will be close….. Worm eating. Ovenbirds.
Pine Warbler. Etc. I hope to get out this way once a week in
The summer. Exploring. Butterflies, odes, birds, botany. Fun!
Picked up 4 Adams birds. It gets harder!
Of course migrants around Butler today. I was busy elsewhere…..
I won’t have a chance to hit Butler again til Sat. at the earliest. Possibly
Sunday. Canada and Wilson's are late migrants. So keeping my fingers
Crossed!
I lost 30 minutes this morning - Leo and the coffee maker. That’s my kitten.
I say no more….. anyway, I only had 15 minutes at that cabin area of Shawnee
Forest to scan for the Kites. Of course no success…… Sigh…… I am not even
Sure 30 more minutes earlier would have helped. Maybe insects not active yet?
Whatever……
Butterfly notes - my highlights - Silvery Checkerspots - many! Northern
Pearly eye. And a club tail I have to look up yet!
BOG - Butterfly observation group - part of Ohio leps. A great group to join!
Good birding all.
