Suffering a bit of cabin fever already, I ventured out into the chill, hoping to see the White-winged Scoter & maybe some Tundra swans.
At Nimisila, I might have seen the scoters but the two dark birds were at the limits of my scope from the W side so not completely sure of the ID but the tiny bit of white on the head & folded wing along with the bill/body shape certainly fit. Despite driving around to the E side, I could not find them again. I did have good looks at a group of 18 Hooded Mergansers--always fun to see. Some mallards, One Coot, kingfisher. V quiet overall.
La Due not any livelier. No swans or cranes. Only Canada Geese, Common Terns & some gulls. No siskins. Juv Red-tailed Hawk.
