Today ( March 22nd ) birders from the Medina County Park District trekked
down to Chippewa Inlet trail and after seeing only 1 Wigeon, 2 Wood ducks, 3
Hooded mergansers, some mallards and geese, we crossed street and walked a
few blocks over to Chippewa Lake. We saw many of each species:
Tundra swans
Lesser scaup
Red-breasted mergansers
Blue-winged teal
Canvasback
Wigeon
Killdeer
Ring-billed gulls
Goldfinch
Chickadee
Starling
Crow
Robin
Red-bellied WP
We were a few minutes late getting to Chippewa Inlet because of the
sightings on our lake in our back yard ( Mallard Lake in north Medina City )
! Here is what we saw this morning:
120 Lesser scaup
14 Horned grebe
4 Canvas back
8 Common golden eye
16 Buffleheads
8 Mallards
20 Geese
4 Blue-winged teal
4 ring-billed gull
Happy birding and Happy Easter !
