Tired of being cooped up between work and weather, I decided to chase the Brant needle in the Canada Goose haystack again. I spent a couple hours wandering around the warehouse area and also went to Heritage Park in GrovePort (which had the largest concentration of Canada Geese) 3x but I came up empty on the Brant. I saw a few ducks besides mallards: N Shoveler, Bufflehead, Ring-necked. I also had a Pied-billed Grebe.
There was a small flock of Horned Larks & one Kingfisher near the warehouses and 2 Killdeer, bluebirds & a Hairy WP at Heritage Park.

While I was looking for the Brant, I ran into another birder who had just come from checking for the Snowy Owl near the Moen warehouse but she did not see it. She had spoken to another birder who had been there a few hours and he had not spotted it either.

Hearing that, I skipped driving west and went north hoping to get another look at the Little Gull & to look for the Eared Grebe. I found four grebes off the beach at alum Creek but they all appeared to be Horned.

There were many Bonaparte‘s Gulls at Oxbow but after scanning through them for a while, I was not successful in picking out the Little Gull. There were several nicely marked Juv Bonaparte’s. One Hooded Merganser.

I stopped briefly at Tagg Rd on the way home but only saw an adult Bald Eagle & another small flock of Horned Larks.
