Kirtland Bird Club (KBC) is accepting pre-qualification applications to the
“Ohio Avian Project Initiative” (OAPI).* *The OAPI program will provide
grants of $250 to $1000 to non-profit organizations or individuals sponsored
by a non-profit organization for support of Ohio avian research, education
and conservation projects. Preference will be given to projects that focus
on bird species designated as “species of concern” by Ohio and national
organizations. The objective of the OAPI is to contribute to the serious
study of ornithology by increasing knowledge of birds in Ohio including
seasonal migration and residence data, habitat preferences, etc and to make
that information available to the KBC membership and the general public.

Pre-qualification applications are due by October 31. Accepted applicants
will be invited to submit a full proposal; grant announcements will be sent
immediately following the March 7, 2012 meeting of the KBC. Grants will not
be awarded to individuals and studies that are previous recipients of OAPI
funds. The pre-qualification application is available on the KBC Web site at
http://www.kirtlandbirdclub.org/OAPI/program.htm
