Seeing a few interesting sightings posted from this lake I’d never visited, I spent a little time this morning checking it out. I did not see the Red-throated Loon or Eared Grebe that were reported but had a decent views of a number of Common Mergansers as well as a Pied-billed Grebe and a Common Loon. There was a small group of Ring-billed Gulls and of course many Canada Geese.
As I was leaving Granville, an adult Bald Eagle flew over, the second time I’ve seen one over the town in recent days. Along the roadsides, I saw kestrels, Red-taileds & one Red-shouldered.
Didn’t stay out long not wanting to be driving when the forecasted snow started.
