Frosty morning but a pleasant walk. V quiet bird wise although I picked up my FOS Winter Wren that popped up amidst a flock of White-throated Sparrows, giving brief but excellent views before disappearing into deep tangles.
V few sparrows around except good numbers of White-throateds. I heard a couple Song and one towhee. They’ve done more mowing of some of the brushy fields for reasons unknown to me but I was sorry to see so much cover removed. Even goldfinch numbers seemed down.
Also saw 2 Hermit Thrushes and a few Golden-crowned Kinglets. Carolina Wren, 5 mallards.
