Vick Derr and I (along with one border collie) drove up to chicken country in licking County to look for the longspurs that Margaret Bowman reported yesterday. While we did not find them, we did see the 14 American pipits, no doubt the same 14 she saw. We also saw close to 100 horned larks. I swear I looked at every single one of them, but could not find any longspurs. As Jen would likely say, they probably were horned larks anyway.
