I roamed through several parks in this NW Columbus suburb this morning,
starting at Trabue Preserve, then going to Avery Park and Glacier Ridge,
before finishing up along the Scioto River gorge at O'Shaughnessy Dam and
Amberleigh Park. Snow & ice away from the river made ground -feeders
virtually non-existant, but there were still plenty of woodpeckers, flock
birds, and fruit-eaters. The river had better diversity, and the ice-free
areas had decent waterfowl flocks, though mostly it was Mallards and
Geese. Notables included:

Mute Swans - 3 of them were hanging out by a hole in the ice at Lake Corazon
Mergansers - Hoodeds were at several areas along the river, but Amberleigh
also had 10 Commons
Raptors - Red-tails were at many locations, but other raptors were fairly
scarce
Flickers - the big woodpeckers were much in evidence, with 5 at Glacier
Ridge, and 2-3 elsewhere
Kinglets - only had a few Golden-crowns, at Trabue and O'Shaughnessy Dam
Bluebirds - 1-2 at many different locations, often feeding on berries
Mockingbird - 1 was in a yard next to Lake Corazon, defending a berrybush
Sparrows - not much besides a handful of Juncos & White-throats, but did
find a flock of 8 Tree Sparrows in a planted prairie area at Glacier Ridge
