Fellow birders,

WOW! Didn’t see that coming, but it turned into a very nice conversation about how to support birding, with many great suggestions on how and where to contribute. However, for anyone to suggest that birders don’t already pay their fair share, or that they are birding on the backs of hunters, should have gotten the biggest laugh of the day.
Local economies that benefit so much from visiting birders recognize one clear thing. If there are no birds, there will be no birders, and hence no birder’s dollars. So, they do their fair share, too. However, I think I’ll buy three legacy stamps this year, and continue to contribute to other organizations, and vote for someone who will responsibly manage our wildlife habitats.

Might I suggest that you respond off line, so as to not clog up the list serve any more.
