I caught sight of some excellent birds at Buckeye Lake in Millersport, Ohio.
Most notable was a Peregrine Falcon sitting on top of a cell tower just off the entrance to the park.
Hiked around the snow-covered path along the edge of the lake, and spied some birds on open water between me and Fisher’s Marina. Several canvasback ducks, a pair of goldeneye ducks and a pair of hooded mergansers. Lots of song sparrows along the park path. A northern harrier soared by as well as a belted kingfisher.
If you visit Buckeye Lake - I suggest a spotting scope to make waterfowl identification easier.
