I stopped at several areas along the Scioto River near downtown Columbus
this morning, including Long St. dam, Scioto Audubon, Berliner Park, and
Haul Rd. The last bits of landbird migrants were still around, but no big
waterbird push was in evidence yet. Notables for the morning included:

HoodedMergansers - a few at Scioto Audubon and 4-5 at Hard Rd

Cormorants - still small numbers all along the river

Cooper's Hawk - an adult male was terrorizing flocks of Robins at Scioto
Audubon

Gulls - small flocks of Ring-bills at both Scioto Audubon and Haul Rd.

Brown Creeper - still almost a no-show, with only 1 in the riparian forest
at Berliner

fruit-eaters - small flocks of Robins & waxwings everywhere, the only
abundant birds of the morning, eating honeysuckle berries and hackberries

Mockingbird - still one around Scioto Audubon, a traditional wintering spot

Kinglets - still some Golden-crowns around at Scioto and Berliner, but not
many

Sparrows - flocks of White-throats at many locations, smaller #s of Songs

Blackbirds - not a one
