Shortly before 1:30 this afternoon, I watched a Peregrine diving at the
group of Pigeons that hang around and nest under the Rt 82 bridge that
spans Elm Rd in Cortland (near Walmart). The Peregrine missed the Pigeon it
was trying to catch, dove back into the group and missed again, and then it
flew to the top of one of the tallest utility poles. The Pigeons scattered
then eventually landed on the wires near the bridge where they usually
roost. A bit of excitement to brighten a rainy afternoon. :)
