Rather chilly spring birding especially with the cold wind off the lake but picked a few nice birds.

At Sandy Ridge, I had my FOS Tree Swallows and Wood Ducks (2 Pairs). Also a couple E Bluebirds. Saw both adult Bald Eagles, one on the nest and the other perched. Other ducks: Ring-neckeds, N Shovelers, G-W Teal, Buffleheads, Mallards, Gadwall. Woodpeckers incl Pileated & Hairy. One Tree Sparrow at the feeders. Heard Spring peepers & Comb(?) frogs.

At Edgewater, I looked for the Iceland Gull but was not successful. Ditto on the Great Cormorant that some birders saw at the coast guard station but the cold & whipping wind plus several barges coming and going made the viewing far from optimal. I did get great views of a Glaucous Gull there. Many Greater Black-backed also.

By the marina by Wendy Park, I saw a Snowy Owl on the piers. The gulls were not happy with its presence. Likely a female with quite prominent spotting. Also had a Horned Grebe there.

Thanks to the birders I met who shared their sightings.
