Black Swamp Bird Observatory would like to share some opportunities for
birders to have fun and support young birders and habitat restoration.

We invite you to...

...come out and sit a spell!

Ohio Young Birders Club BIG SIT
Saturday, October 15th, 2011
7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Ohio Young Birders Club is hosting their second annual BIG SIT
fundraiser for the OYBC and habitat restoration. This year's project is the
Port Clinton Lakeshore Preserve and 50% of the proceeds the students raise
will support the restoration efforts on this impressive area. In an era
where we seem to be losing far more battles for habitat than we win, the
City of Port Clinton (with key support from Black Swamp Conservancy, Trust
for Public Lands, and Ducks Unlimited), preserved a one-mile stretch of
lakefront property. This coastal wetland needs some work to remove invasive
species and to create more access, but the City of PC is committed to
restoring the habitat and we are honored to help their efforts. If you'd
like to come and help spot birds, or you can't make it but would like to
support the effort, please click here for all the details:

songbird banding demonstrations, and lunch - all for just $10 per students
