The compiler assigned me to the group right near my house. Armleder. Lake Barber. It was cold! And the snow hit again…. We had GW Teal at Lake Barber. I would have thought they all would have moved on with the big
Freeze up. Although actually, Lake Barber
Had a lot of open water still. And I was told
That Junco is a difficult species in that area. Well we had 7. The snow covered lawns pushed the birds to edges.
The prize of the bad weather was the Harris’s. Alas I did not see. We had split up
To cover more ground. 2 of the participants
Saw. Despite many searching later, it is being
Elusive. It’s a Harris’s….. I will head back
Tues. between 10:00 and 11:00. That was the
Time frame. Seen along the path to the east of the bathrooms. That would be a state
Bird for me! I drove around at the end looking
For birds on the fields. Nothing….. that surprised me! I thought we did good species
And numbers wise. But since this was my first time in this area, I really don’t know.
I am looking forward to the east fork count on 1/2. Warm weather! I just hope not much rain.
Good birding all.
