Already warm and humid when I started. V quiet but it was worth the trip as I heard a Black-billed Cuckoo—my first for the year. It was fairly close and called for awhile but I had limited sight lines & it was buried in thick trees—I was never able to spot it. I heard it again but much farther away (N) about 15 minutes later then even more distant as I left.
Only warbler I heard was Com YT. A few Wood Thrushes. I only heard Acadian FCs, no peewees. Red-eyed & White-eyed Vireos. Indigo Bunting.
Aside from a female Belted KF and some Wood Ducks, that was about it.
A couple days ago, a brief walk at the Land Lab only turned up one adult Red-headed WP, E Kingbird, a couple N Mockingbirds carrying food & some Barn Swallows.
