I ventured out in the occasional misty rain this morning to get a walk in. I didn’t expect to find many birds and That proved true but I got 2 new birds for my reserve list (and FOS): Winter Wren and finally, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. I’ve been puzzled I hadn’t seen the sapsucker there in the past but that’s birding.

Great views of the Winter Wren first in some dark tangles and then working its way along a log over a stream.

Only warbler was Com YT. Only vireo White-eyed.

Song, White-throated & Field Sparrows.

If I’d just managed to hear or see a pileated today, I’d have swept the WPs.

O/w, lots of towhees & catbirds. Only thrushes robins & bluebirds. Kingfisher. Heard Ruby-crowned Kinglet & saw/heard flick of waxwings.
