Yea! Up to 187! I am feeling better about 200. Those were 2 goodies! Of course,
something needed will show up while I am away. Happens all the time……

Anyway, in no particular order - I had a lot of passerines feeding along that
Entry bike path at Bilstein. To Gilmore. Gets the morning sun, is open, and has
Lots of berry vines. The birds love it! Only no migrants down here. Just the breeders.
I need some migrants! South pond next. And a YCNH finally cooperated for
August! No I never made it early in the morning….. it looked like a first summer
Transitioning into full adult plumage. Hope I managed a pic. Next the NE corner.
Scanning from the RR track area. Saw the big stuff. But didn't have my scope.
Came back late afternoon. I still didn’t want to lug the scope, so bushwhacked
To the edge. Lots of shorebirds! Including 2 Buffies! They might stick. Just be
Prepared for a killer trek in. 2 Stilt sandpipers, 9 pecs, 7 Semipalm sandpipers,
1 Solitary, both Yellowlegs. Etc. I’ll be back here in Sept!

Not many swallows. It’s that time of year where birds are in post breeding flocks.
There is a Swift roost down here somewhere in Hamilton county. Maybe next year
I can go view! Maybe next August for the East gate Martin roost, cedar bog, an
August Lark Sparrow try….. it’s good to have goals! I ran out of time……

The Forsters I first spotted at the marina at Hueston woods. Preble. So off I
Go back to the dam - that’s butler! To wait it out with my scope. I watched from
The dam. Success! Interesting - a Forsters before a Caspian. This bird looked
Like an adult transitioning into winter - basic plumage. It had the adult wing
Pattern, but was half way through the head molt. Had the eye patch and still some
Black on the neck. Or maybe a first year bird. Immature birds are highly
Variable.

Good birding all.
