Nothing too exciting at these two hotspots in NE COlumbus & Westerville,
but did have a nice collection of waterfowl between Thoreau Lake at Blendon
and the Dam spillway. Included were
Canada Geese - many at both spots
Mallards - many at both spots
Black Ducks - 125+ at Thoreau Lake
Gadwall - a pair at Blendon, but 15 at the spillway
N.Shoveler - 12 were at the spillway
AmWigeon - 2 pair were at Thoreau Lake
Redheads - 4 were at each site
Ring-necked Duck - 1 was at the spillway
Bufflehead - 7 were in the splash pool at the spillway
ComGoldeneye - 1 male and 5 females were just below the dam
Red-br.Mergansers - a pair were at Thoreau Lake
Hooded Mergansers - 3 were at Blendons, while 4 were at the spillway
Pied-billedGrebe - 1 was at the spillway

No sign of the Dunlin at the spillway, but it still might have been there
hunkered down. Landibrds were about what you'd expect, with the addition
of Tree Sparrows at the Blendon Nature Center feeders and 2 Swamp Sparrows
along the spillway margin at Hoover.
