Granger Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio
Observers: Paula Lozano & Jan Ranahan
I usually back my car into our driveway. As Jan and I got out, we flushed a bird that was on the ground by the wood pile. Much to our amazement, it was an AMERICAN BITTERN! First, it flew into the backyard on north side of our house. I grabbed my binoculars and successfully relocated the bittern. Then, the bittern flew down that neighbor's driveway, landing on the tree lawn of the neighbor on our south side where I had another good look before it disappeared flying west on Shaw Avenue. Sorry, no photos!
