The 40th Clark County Christmas Bird Count was highlighted by a Snowy Owl sitting in a grass parking lot island at the Buck Creek beach. It was found by Doug Overacker and Julie Karlson at about 1:45 pm. The beach lots’ gate is closed but you can park at the lot just north of the beach closer to the boat ramp.
It was in the second grass island from the north, and closer to the beach end of the lots, not far from the main bathhouse. It is an open area so you can see it from a comfortable distance for the owl.
