Two friends and I refound the bird yesterday Tuesday morning at the Oxbow meadow in North Chagrin Reservation, they are photographers and so posted some pics on the Birding Ohio Facebook page -- everyone that has seen the pictures said it was a Northern.
I did some more on-line research Tuesday afternoon and found you-tube videos of Northern singing -- interesting those aren't on the allaboutbirds - Cornell website.  The pictures Rich got of it do show that the bill isn't completely black -- so today I changed my e-bird list and want to let all of you know, too.
Three of us looked four different times today and none of us found it.  I did some reading last evening and according to Peterjohn in Birds of Ohio, most northern shrikes have winter territories with only a few being nomadic.  They tend to migrant back north in February and early March so perhaps this one is already beginning to work his way back north and has moved on.  I'm going to keep checking for a few more days.
One thing for sure, I've learned quite a bit about shrikes over the past two days!!
