Laura Dornan just reported on the leucistic house finches she has seen. We
too have had one here in Granville, identified by my husband when I was at
a total loss. This finch came over a period of several weeks to the feeders
of some friends during the winter. We are hoping the bird will return this
coming winter. Beautiful and strange, clearly not albino but lacking in
much of its normal pigmentation... ghost-like, if you'll permit me a
seasonal reference!
