Went out after church. So not early! Hit a new spot in Warren
County - Miller ecological park. So glad this area is preserved as
Lots of development up there! No migrants - they seemed to have
Moved on. But 2 Bobolinks were nice! I am presuming they breed
In the area if not the park itself.
I was going to Ellis wetlands next for my shorebird survey. But
That strong east wind was getting to me! I skipped that - maybe
Monday afternoon - and went on a Hamilton Prairie Warbler
Quest. Success! Not Shawnee, but Mt. Nebo rd. nearby. Finally……
Shawnee Lookout was good! Even with an afternoon visit here.
I picked up year birds - Cerulean, Wood Thrush, Chat. Nashville,
Blackburnian, Blue winged Warbler - were nice! I went exploring
Different areas before hitting the Blue Jacket trail again. And
No Prairie Warbler….. but if I had gotten here I wouldn't have hit
Mt. Nebo rd! It's all good!
Butterfly notes - Zebra Swallowtails everywhere at Shawnee!
Good birding all.
