I saw about a dozen horned grebes off the shore of the Scheeff East Point Preserve on South Bass Island today. Not much else in the way of other waterfowl yet. We have had large flocks of double-crested cormorants, with occasional white pelicans mixed in during stormy weather in the last month.

Also a single eastern phoebe, about a dozen yellow-rumped warblers in the trees on the beach. Kinglets everywhere at the Massie Cliffside Preserve.
