Castalia pond was mostly Canada geese, with mallards, shovelers, and a couple of bufflehead. Castalia Hatchery had four bald eagles and a small flock of yellow-rumped warblers. Bacon Woods had a hermit thrush in the main woods and a red-shouldered hawk on a pole by the maintenance area at the top of the hill. With warblers and thrushes here, can spring be far behind? Don't answer that... Craig Caldwell Westlake49_8Feb201015:39: [log in to unmask] |

Active weekend at my residential backyard feeder in Centerville in Montgomery County. A pair of purple finches, at least five pair of cardinals, chickadees, Carolina Wren, and dozens of house sparrows. Also saw some Juncos by the tree line on the ground. Hopefully these won't attract the Cooper's Hawk who lives nearby.
